A clearer shot of the pipes. The vertical pipe goes behind the horizontal one and up into the ceiling where it will connect to the horizontal intake line. There would have been an elbow on this side of the flange that would driect the pipe down to the filter(s), then a pipe to bring it back up to the elbow. The filters are about the size of a 55 gallon drum and would have been mounted near floor level. There are still filters in the HECP and the Mortar Battery Plotting room, plus we have one that we'll be setting up for a display in the Coast Artillery Museum. There would have been a blower inline and based on the way that two of the other gas protected buildings are set up, it would have been before the filter. The HECP has a different layout for the airlocks.
